Jorge Jojoa born in Algeciras, Huila, Colombia, a tireless traveler of both landscape and dreams is an excellent draftsman and anxious painter. His life, his work incorporates, in large part, the world in which he inhabits. It is full of oils and sensual imagination that he uses to make his paintings in representation of his feelings.
Jojoa’s work extols the fecundity and sensuousness of life; the container and its content, the representation of the voluptuous and the sensual in a perfect mixture of bright colors and forms.

Jorge Jojoa Torres was born in Algeciras, Huila, Colombia July 7th in 1944.
He began his successful career at age 11. Thanks to his passion for art, his vein of inspiration, and never ending creativity, he has become a great self-made artist.
Jojoa Torres is an ever searching artist. He combines in his paintings great expressive ability with the touch of highly skilled designer creativity and imagination, incorporating elements of the natural landscape of South America, mainly typical villages. He uses images from everyday events to connect the simple with the universal. His work speaks about his appreciation of harmony and balance. The perfect blend among nature and man-made elements.
Jojoa's work extols the fecundity and sensuousness of life; the container and its content, the representation of the voluptuous and the sensual in a perfect mixture of bright colors and forms to demonstrate the logical development from an authentic native tradition. It is unexpected where he can arrive with his harmonic coloring in a magic expressionism looking for new forms where any object can be submitted to a new esthetic conception in which the artist's imagination must look for the pure essence of art. According to Jojoa, "Art is a magical reality at the eyes and the senses of the artist ".
His has participated in over 25 national and international expositions
Since November 2004, his name began to appear in the Foundation BAT Colombia and the Ministry of Culture through the National Museum book "1 Hall BAT Popular Art".
